# Yahoo put Facebook on Yahoo! Mail

Yahoo will begin deployment Monday evening in English-speaking countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. It will start appearing in other countries on April 26th.

To use this feature, customers must link their Yahoo and Facebook accounts by tapping "Add to Facebook" in the status section of Yahoo Mail at What's New and sign in to their Facebook.

Once the accounts are linked, users can type a message in a status box in Yahoo Mail and choose whether to post on Facebook, on Yahoo or both. If they choose to post it on Yahoo, the status message shows their contact on Yahoo Mail's What's New page in Yahoo Mail.

This feature also displays the Facebook community image in Yahoo e-mail. Clicking on an image in the mailbox will lead to that person's Facebook profile page.

In a blog post, Yahoo said the partnership with Facebook was just the start of plans to add services to Yahoo Mail. Late last month, the company also allowed people to add their Facebook friends' addresses to their Yahoo contacts.

These changes were made using Facebook Connect.
